Pathway to Behavioral Science Graduate Programs

Are you thinking of pursuing an MS degree in either Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I-O Psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis? If you’d like to try out the program before completing your undergraduate degree and get a jump start on your elective graduate coursework the Behavioral Science Pathway program is a great opportunity. By participating in this program, you can reduce your course load in graduate school, and in some cases earn your MS degree faster. Through this program, you will enroll as a Master of Science student in the School of Health Sciences (SHS) of Touro University. If you're a psychology major at SLE you can apply for Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis. If you're a human services major, you can apply for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. How You'll Learn

The School for Lifelong Education provides Associate and Bachelor’s degrees, but our “classroom” format is non-traditional, or not always in a classroom, so you can balance your academic goals and meet your personal, family, and employment responsibilities.

Courses are offered in a variety of formats:

Traditional Classes

These are courses that meet in a traditional classroom setting once a week for 2 1/2 hours, at a set time that is sensitive to your schedule.

Bi-Weekly Collaboratives

Small collaborative sessions are scheduled on alternate weeks (you'll notice week A and week B designations on our calendar), providing an opportunity for academic exchange between instructors and students, based largely on work completed outside the classroom.

One-on-One Mentorials

Mentorials are scheduled by appointment and are one-on-one meetings with faculty to guide you in expanding your research into specialized topics of interest. You will need to meet a minimum of five times per semester, but have the flexibility to find a time that works for you and your professor. You will spend the same amount of time completing the readings, individualized assignments, and quizzes as you would in a traditional class, but you’ll be able to do it at your convenience and at home.

Classes are offered on separate days for men and women.

  • Men meet on Sunday nights and Thursday nights
  • Women meet Sunday mornings, and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday day and night.

Here to Support You

The academic dean, Dr. Briendy Stern, will meet with you each semester to craft a plan to move you towards your professional goals. Our campus includes two computer rooms with lab techs to help you, and our well-stocked library has a full-time librarian here to assist you with research materials for your courses.
